Dark rooms during the midnight sun

I slept soundly in my room after pulling the blackout shades to block the midnight sun. Larry prepared caramelized French toast for breakfast while I chatted with other guests at the table. My room stayed dark and peaceful throughout my three nights in the historic house.

Overlooking the water from the deck

I watched for Denali from the large upstairs deck while I sipped beverages kept in the refrigerator by the living room. I found baked treats on the porch every evening when I returned from walking the trails right out the front door. I drank my morning coffee on the same porch while watching the sunset through the birch trees. Greg and Linda prepared a different gluten-free breakfast for my husband each morning.

I enjoyed made-to-order breakfasts prepared by the owner, a former chef, each morning. My room held bottles of water and various snacks that I reached for during my stay.
